Todor Mollov Vociferous Isaiah - domestic Isaiah?
The article examines a few transcripts of the Doxology for Bulgarian and Serbian saints (17th-18th century). The prototype was made in the 20s of the 16th century in the Sofia archdiocese’s region, which includes Samokov and the Rila monastery. In other texts, from the 16th-17th century period, it is mentioned that holy remains of a prophet named Isaiah are situated in the Osogovo monastery. According the the author the remains belong to domestic Isaiah, a participant in the procession of bringing back the holy remains of the saint Ivan Rilski from Tarnovo to Rila monastery (1469). Around 1480-1481 he discusses with Ioan Kantakuzin the role of the saint as a defender of all bulgarians in the expected End of the world. The eschatological optimism of Isaiah that the world will have it’s new beginning after year 1492 happens to become truth and after his death (possibly in the Osogovo monastery) the Bulgarians start to venerate Vociferous Isaiah.
