The review considers in detail the book "A Theory of Relativity. Bulgarian Relative Pronouns – Origin and Development" (2012) by Ivan G. Iliev. The work is highly valued and the notice draws the conclusion that it is the first study that presents fully the development processes by all Bulgarian relative pronouns from the Old Bulgarian period to their status in modern Bulgarian language and its dialects. What's more – the author seeks and finds in-depth linguistic similarities with the ways of expression of relativity in some other Slavic and Indo-European languages and even in the languages belonging to other language families and having disparate syntactic-typological systems.
