Analysis of an Open Circular Ferrite Waveguide

An open circular ferrite waveguide with azimuthal magnetization, sustaining normal TE0n modes, is studied. The characteristic equation, derived in terms of complex Kummer confluent hypergeometric and real McDonald functions is solved numerically, providing computation of structure's phase characteristics. The possible applications of configuration as ferrite switch or isolator, are discussed.
