Analysis of a Ferrite Toroid Circular Waveguide Phaser

The phase behaviour of a circular waveguide, loaded with coaxially positioned ferrite toroid, magnetized azimuthally to the direction of propagation, is studied with respect to normal rotationally symmetric TE modes. Calculations are made for different geometries and parameters of the toroid to obtain a maximum differential phase shift per unit length. The results of analysis have important implication on the design of digital nonreciprocal phasers for microwave frequencies.
