Analysis of a Circular Waveguide with an Azimuthally Magnetized Ferrite Rod and Dielectric Tube

The characteristic equation of a circular waveguide with coaxially positioned azimuthally magnetized ferrite rod and dielectric tube is derived by complex Kummer confluent hypergeometric and real Bessel and Neumann functions. Several special cases of the equation are considered. A procedure for its numerical solution is developed and the dependence of its roots on structure's parameters is analyzed. A sample of the phase curves of the configuration is given, too.
