Asymptotic Analysis of an Anisotropic Cylindrically Stratified Circular Waveguide

A circular waveguide loaded with azimuthally magnetized ferrite rod surrounded by a dielectric cylinder in contact with the guide wall, under TE0n mode excitation, is studied. An asymptotic technique is developed for solution of the characteristic equation, yielding the eigenvalue spectrum and nonreciprocal phase curves of the gyrotropic waveguide. Possible applications of the radially stratified ferrite-dielectric structure in constructing a number of ferrite control components are discussed.
