 The situational analysis of the normative documentation reveals the main step by step of introducing the educational changes in the Bulgarian school geography. In the current school year, 2019/2020, the introduction of the new curricula for compulsory geography and economics preparation with the last class for the first high school stage of secondary education degree - grade X is completed. The article displays the identified educational traditions in geography training in Bulgaria, which are preserved and further developed in the context of new educational ideas and priorities. The State Educational Standard for Geography training in Bulgaria determines the specific and traditional geography algorithm for characterizing a country, applied in the new conditions - geographical location and borders, natural components, natural environment, population, state structure and management, economy and regional geography - regions of planning.
