In this article I will analyze some problems faced by social security policies in the local government aspect. They are primarily related to regional economic and social imbalances, to the relationships between different ethno-cultural communities, the impact of which must be taken into account at both national and regional levels. This conference provides an opportunity to analyze the experience of neighboring countries in the Balkans, such as Serbia and Bulgaria, in the implementation of these policies, to highlight and analyze the problems.
It is also important to understand that in the field of social policy and social security all processes are closely related and violations in one have serious consequences for everyone else. This requires complex management actions. However, they can be achieved by combining policies at national and regional level.
In conclusion, it can be said that the problems of social security policies in the context of local government could not be neglected: they have to be identified in time to outline ways to solve them. The latter are related to the availability of skills for strategic vision, to attract resources and to engage in the protection of the common interests of our citizens.
