 The article is devoted to the partial problem of the formation of proper nouns which we introduced in our dissertation thesis An Analysis of Pragmatonyms in Slovak Dairy Industry. In this work we deal with one of the frequent onymic word formation processes, namely the process of transonymisation. It is a transition of proper nouns from one proprial class or group into another proprial class. Based on the analysed onymic corpus we separate one-word and multi-word pragmatonyms (names of serially produced goods) which were formed using the principle of transonymisation. The result of the onymic research shows the presence of six types of transonymisation: deantroponymic, deliteraronymic, dehydronymic, deoronymic, deoiconymic and dechoronymic transonymisation.
