Some negative consequences of liberal politics are considered in the paper. Economic Liberalism is the dominating ideology of our transition from communist social state to capitalist market economy and political pluralism. Liberalism relies on an unjustified nominalism: radical individualism, formal justice and negative formulation of the fundamental human rights (“freedom from…”) are the underlying foundation of this view. It leads to violation of the interests of minorities, marginal groups, socially underprivileged peoples and neglects the requirements of material justice. It is true that in the globalized world the liberal state does not resolve the social problem. The economic liberalism can be criticized from the point of view of communitarism: the latter is not its alternative, it is only its corrective. The communitarian values are close to the tradition of Balkan (Slavic) societies, indeed – these are solidarity, mutual aid, social integration and tolerance, survival of communities. The transition to market economy and pluralism could be developed on the base of communitarian social and political projects.
