Theory of Social Norms underlines the design of this study. Authors consider the time spent on social networking specific case of social norm nowadays, thus suggest that people will be inclined to exaggerate the time, spent on social networking and the effect of the posts on their friends compared to the self-assessment of their individual behavior. The results for a sample of 190 volunteers (aged 12-50) reveal that the assessments of people are coherent to some extent, however support the suppositions. Respondents declare that their friends spend more time networking on the one hand and on the other hand that their friends are less critical to the web posts compared to them. The outlined trend confirm that theory of social norms can be extended in respect to a wider range of risky and problem behaviors and age groups.
