Analytical Philosophy in Bulgaria
Ruch Filozofyczny, Tom LX, N4, Torun, Poland, pp.557-664
In this paper I shall try to present the role of analytical tradition in the development of Bulgarian philosophical thought – the critical attitude to it, the acceptance of its results of importance and the sizing of its typical problems. My main thesis is that at present the ideas and problems of analytical philosophers going through a veritable revival in my country. Bulgaro-Polish relations in the spheres of philosophy and logic are, indeed, of foremost importance in the unfolding of this process. Polish analytical school is a model for us – with its antiirationalism, scientism, logical culture and positive attitude to traditional philosophical problems (1). Such a philosophical attitude is very important in the situation of ongoing social and economic transformation, whereby old values are being shelved and no new substitutes are in sight.
