The verbalization of gestural language – perspectives for the contrastive research of Balkan phraseology // 11th Congress of South-East European Studies. Sofia, 29.08 - 04.09. 2015.
The paper focuses on the contrastive approach towards conventional units based on the body language signs, i.e. the gesture phraseology. The importance of semantics, syntactics, and pragmatics of signs to highlight differences in phrasal meaning is pointed out. The paper addresses the question if the study of Balkan phraseology is possible in a wider (for instance European) perspective.
